Pastor Tom preached on how the Holy Spirit uses the local church to set apart and send called men and women for God-appointed works among all people.
Missionaries from around the world sent in video messages for us! Watch to hear what they had to say.
We shared our story too!
Our fathers are Bible preaching and teaching pastors. We grew up in active, faith-based homes, steeped in God’s Word. This is part of who we are as individuals, as husband and wife, and as we serve God with the gifts afforded to us. God has called us to Bible translation and has placed it on our hearts to serve his people.
We’ve dedicated our lives to God’s Word through the study of linguistics and biblical languages. The Bible is critical for people to know God and be transformed into followers of Christ. Bible translation makes it possible for all language communities to encounter the fullness of God in their own culture and context.
We have education and work experience in the fields of linguistics and Bible translation. We studied linguistics at Dallas International University and Canada Institute of Linguistics. Our work at Logos Bible Software has produced invaluable tools for pastors and scholars to aid in their study of God’s Word.
It is because of this work that we have been invited to serve with Wycliffe Bible Translators. After years of training, we are ready to serve the global church in the cause of Bible translation, as we produce language and translation resources for Bibleless communities.
We will work with local translators and translation consultants around the world to provide language and translation resources so that minority-language communities can have the Bible in their own language. Our skillset in language analysis contributes to these efforts toward clear, natural, and accurate Bible translations. We are eager to engage in work that accelerates the process of Bible translation so that the remaining unreached Bibleless communities can have God’s Word in a language they clearly understand.
We rejoice today with you! Thank you for standing with us. Thank you for affirming God’s call on our lives. As the Apostle John writes in 3 John 8, you are our fellow coworkers in the truth and in God’s Great Commission work.
